Le Grange Gites

29th September to 6th October 2018

A really enjoyable 6th visit

The weather for October has been outstanding enabling Trevor to do some fishing – biggest fish caught was a 14lb Common Carp at Radenac.

Had 4 delicious meals at our local favourite restaurant the Faison Dore at Moreac where we always get a warm welcome.

Feel thoroughly relaxed after experiencing the tranquillity of the French countryside.

Eggs and garden produce excellent as always.

Thanks, Lesley and Simon, for your hospitality and for giving us another brilliant holiday in this special part of Brittany.

Valerie and Trevor, Torquay, Devon, September 2018

11th to 18th September 2018 – Bramble Gite

We have just returned from our second visit to Le Grange Gites and once again we had a lovely time.

We stayed in Bramble Gite which was spacious and well equipped catering for all our needs.

There is a garden area for each Gite which has BBQ facilities and just through the gate is the lovely pool area.

There was plenty of information available about all the different places to visit as well as the popular local restaurants.

For anyone looking to do some fishing there is a 3/4 acre lake that is owned by Simon and Lesley which is well stocked with Carp and other species in a beautiful setting.

Home grown fresh produce is available.

Already booked again for next year

Hi Simon and Lesley

We Had lovely holiday, weather ‘just as the doctor ordered,!!

Plenty of interesting places to visit

We loved St Cado after seeing it on so many calendars, and a trip to the Cote Savage was well worth the time.

The Out and about book very useful.

Simon and Lesley couldn’t have been more helpful.

Will be happy to recommend your Gites

7th to 10th September 2018 - Bramble Gite and

7th to 14th September 2018 - Cider House Gite

Family friendly Gites with great Pool and Garden

This is a great place to holiday with children.

We went there with our extended family including two young grandsons.

The gites are spacious and comfortable but what makes it so good is the outdoor space and lovely pool area and the hospitality of Simon and Lesley.

Its also extremely good value for money. We all had a lovely time.

Many Thanks, Clive, Margaret and families, Plymouth, Devon, September 2018

8th to 15th September 2018 - Willow Gite

We have enjoyed our stay here very much and appreciate the welcome and helpful information

We would recommend the Gites here to friends and family

Plus comment on customer feedback form: (thank you)

We have enjoyed our stay and found the Gite comfortable and pleasant and the pool a treat

We have used your “Out and About” brochure and loved Josselin and the chateau of Kerguehennec, which we would not otherwise have found.

Thanks for a lovely stay

With thanks John and Mary, Kingsbridge, Devon, September 2018

2nd to 7th September 2018 - Willow Gite

Many thanks to you both for a lovely welcome.

Your Gites are in a fab location. Home grown veg were excellent, as well as lovely fresh free range eggs. Honey and Jam err to die for.

Your Gite is ideally located for exploration of the Morbihan area.

Despite the difficult fishing conditions Noel still landed his personal best carp and lost an even bigger one. The lake is ideally suited for a stroll into Josselin, our favourite town in the area.

Many thanks again Simon and Lesley for all your help

25th August to 2nd September 2018 – Ivy Gite

We had a fantastic holiday here at Le Grange Gites, this is our second holiday here as a family of six 2 adults and 4 children.

We went to Branfére which is a zoological park where you walk around seeing the animals in a natural setting. Plenty to see and do for all members of the family the children enjoyed going on the high net assault course with slides and trampolines.

We went to Moreac park great fun had by all, and a nice walk around the lake before heading back and going in the Gites swimming pool

We went to Pontivy to look at the castle and walked around the town and heading back to go in the swimming pool

We went to the Sculpture Park at Domaine de Kerguehennec a great walk around seeing sculptures, a big house, fantastic lakes where there were people fishing and plenty of pond life and woodlands

We went to La Balade du Pere Nicolas. Cheap to get in fantastic day out it had 2 great slides, animals, zip wires, go karts, pedal cars, train rides, rubber ring slides and traditional toys fun for all ages there.

We went to Kingoland which is great fun for all ages, and great value compared to UK theme parks.

Lastly we went to Josselin for market day which has a fantastic atmosphere, and walked around the historic town and church, followed by an easy stroll along the canal.

11th to 25th August 2018 – Willow Gite

This was our first visit and we had such a fantastic time that we have already booked for next year.

Lesley and Simon were so welcoming when we arrived despite having just received some very sad news.

Their knowledge and advice on the area and where to go is first rate. The folders in the gite are packed with information. My family enjoyed fishing at the lakes for which Simon offered great tips. They were always on hand if you had any questions or needed any help with anything. We enjoy many trips out visiting the local areas.

They grow vegetables and have many items to buy which is fantastic when you don't want to make a trip to the shops.

My son completed the feedback form in the Gite and ticked everything as excellent.

The gites are in a quiet rural area, which is perfect for relaxing. We sat in the garden every night for dinner and to enjoy the weather. It was a perfect way for the children (and adults) to make new friends.

The value for money is superb. As guests I think it is only right that you leave the gite as you found it.

We would recommend these gites, and their hosts, to all. Especially families.

18th to 25th August 2018 – Ivy Gite

We have had a lovely week here with some good weather. Ivy Gite has been a comfortable and pleasant base from which to explore the area. The pool has been a hit with the boys, especially my youngest who waited eagerly each morning to go in!

Lesley and Simon have been friendly and helpful, from wanting a ball pumped up to advice on best body board beaches to go to. Their chicken's eggs were lovely, incredible yellow yolks

We enjoyed pizzas from the takeaway in Moreac and also the BBQ in the garden. The garden games have been good and nice to use the area for our own boules too

We enjoyed exploring the area, these are our highlights

Erdeven – Good beach for body boarding. A locals favourite and busy by the pm. Carpark only €1 and ice cream vendors on the beach

Josselin – Castle and town. Lovely medieval buildings, good restaurants. English tour of the castle at 2.30pm. Free parking at the promenade

Vannes – Free parking up by the boat yard (past the port parking at the roundabout and first right). Nice walk around the town, great buildings and cathedral worth a visit. Boat tours to the Gulf very nice, especially early evening, ask for a English leaflet for tour information

Quiberon – Train from Aura. Nice beach and great ice creams, plus free parking at the station. Trains very busy on the return so get there in plenty of time if returning between 5.30pm and 7pm.

Carnac – lovely resort, we went for a lovely walk later afternoon/early evening. Lots of water sports options. Free parking up the hill near the houses

Suscinio –stunning beach, peaceful and free parking. Castle beautiful too

We need another week to explore more! Thanks

28th July to 4th August 2018 – Cider House Gite

We had a blast on end of July and enjoyed every minute of it.Shame that we've booked only for one week :(.

Lesley and Simon are beautiful hosts, ready to give you all the informations you need.

Our gite was huge, plenty of space, nicely prepared with loads of errands made on request for us.

Not to mention the garden's vegetables that we have enjoyed everyday -simply delicious.

In addition to all, the swimming pool was nice and clean and being surrounded by green was exactly what we needed to relax in nature.

Our kids had an amazing time.

For sure we'll be back in the future.

A big hug from London to Lesley and Simon., Anca and Family, July / August 2018

Hope to see you soon:)

28th July to 11th August 2018 – Ivy Gite

What a wonderful location. From the minute we arrived both Simon and Lesley made us all feel very welcome with their friendly and helpfulness, as well as nothing being too much trouble for them. They certainly added to an already lovely setting.

The Gite is very comfortable and the setting and facilities are fabulous. Perfect for anybody

The kids had a fantastic time in the pool and there are plenty of fantastic days out close by. They enjoyed feeding the chickens and Daisy the rabbit too!

Lovely holiday would recommend to anyone.

Many thanks Simon and Lesley. Kathy, Ian, Alfie and Martha, Worcester, July / August 2018

28th July to 11th August 2018 – Bramble Gite

Simon and Lesley seem to fit the area very well as both are friendly and welcoming.

We had a 11 month baby and 6 year old and there was plenty to do.

We enjoyed it so much we are coming back next year.

14th July to 21st July 2018 – Cider House Gite

(2nd comment emailed to us, thank you)

Le Grange Gites offer top class facilities which are very well presented by two superb hosts Simon and Lesley.

The facilities suit all age groups, our group ranged from children as young as nine to grandparents who have reached the three score years and ten.

Our hosts were a mine of information which makes getting around and maximising the key assets of the area very easy.

So much to see and so many interesting places to visit within a few minutes' drive

We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and the children are hoping for a quick return.

Thank you both for sharing your place with us and being so kind and helpful.

Best regards,

James, Alma and family. [Mark, Carol, Matthew and Rebecca], N Ireland, July 2018

7th July to 21st July 2018 – Ivy Gite

Le Grange Gites are in a lovely quiet spot in rural Bretagne with good access to more than enough interesting places to visit and things to do for all the family.

The Gites themselves are pleasant and the addition of the garden and pool are a welcome bonus.

The owners are really friendly and helpful and can provide home grown produce such as vegetables and honey.

Their tomatoes and their honey were exceedingly good!

My family and I would love to holiday there again.

Best regards, Rob, Joan and family, Midlothian, July 2018

14th to 21st July 2018 – Willow Gite

Dear Simon and Lesley

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you, and were very satisfied with the Gite and facilities.

The swimming pool was a great asset, particularly in view of the hot weather, and the location was quiet and peaceful.

We appreciated your friendliness, and the large amount of information you gave us.

I also was pleased to be able to feed the chickens and supply the compost bin with scrap food, as I hate wasting it - indeed at home we are forbidden to put any food waste in our rubbish bins.

We found some attractive and interesting places to visit - the sculpture park was excellent and amazing that it was free entry!

Auray and Vannes are both beautiful, and the beaches at Carnac and Suscinio were great.

All in all we found the stay very pleasant, and would recommend your Gite to anyone who wanted a rural location but one with plenty of options for interesting visits (and lots to do with the children!)

Best wishes for your future success

Sarah, Tony and Rachel, Bristol, July 2018

As usual another fantastic stay

Lesley and Simon are the best hosts and can’t do enough for you.

Weather has been great so the pool is a welcome sight at the end of a day out

Places we visited included the Chateau of Suscino, well worth a visit, lots to see inside with an excellent English commentary on a small handset you can ask for at the reception

We also went to Branfére Animal Park; this was a good day out, the bird show well worth watching

The Creperie at the Chateau was very good with a good choice of food

We also went to the Faison Dore to eat in Moreac, set menu different every day with a choice of starter, main, puddings and a cheese board with wine and cider a real feast for the price

We also visited the sculpture park – Domaine de Kerguehennec, The park was lovely with such different sculptures to see, didn’t see it all as it was so hot (Good Excuse to come back!)

3 weeks over now but already planned a month next year

Many thanks to Simon and Lesley

19th to 26th May - Willow Gite

Back again for another brilliant week

Trevor enjoyed his Fishing and Golf with a nice dip in the Pool at the end of the day to really wind down!

As usual we made the most of the French cuisine and had really good lunch at the Rive Gauche at Josselin (along the canal path from Simon and Lesley's lake) and the Faison Dore in Moreac (our favourite) – both have a formula around 12 euros i.e. four courses including a carafe of wine

We again took some friends to the small war museum on the side of the lake in Reguiny, which is open in the afternoons with an English speaking guide it was an incredibly interesting and moving experience

We look forward to coming again in October

Valerie and Trevor, Torquay, Devon, May 2018

12th to 19th May - Bramble Gite

We enjoyed our stay in Bramble Gite.

The town's and countryside of southern Brittany are a delight.

We especially enjoyed Nantes and riding on the elephant at "les machines de lile"

We also loved the many delicious meals in some beautiful restaurants. We will be visiting Brittany again.

Thanking Lesley and Simon.
