Le Grange Gites

20th to 25th September 2017 – Cider House Gite

Another wonderful few days at our home form home. Weather not too bad after the first day, we did the markets at Locmine and Josselin and had a couple of days fishing.

Bill had a couple of good carp one day while Yolanda had a Rudd so both quite pleased

As usual we enjoyed our food, now it’s back to normality for another winter

Martyn, Yolanda and Bill, Saltash, Cornwall, September 2017

2nd to 23rd September 2017 – Willow Gite

A very enjoyable 5th visit to Le Grange Gites

Trevor really enjoyed the swimming pool which has been beautifully done

We also enjoyed all the fresh eggs, honey and home grown vegetables, such a tranquil setting

We look forward to another return visit

Thank you for such a warm welcome

Valerie and Trevor, Torquay, Devon, September 2017

9th to 23rd September 2017 - Ivy Gite

This was our first time in this area of Morbihan, Brittany, France. We have covered a lot of Brittany over time either in Gites or with friends on the canal cruisers.

We enjoyed our time and the well heated and clean swimming pool

We visited a fair few of the lakes around and loved the walks around them.

The walk from the fishing lake to Josselin was lovely and a meal at “Rive Gauche” near Josselin was great.

We also enjoyed meals at Moreac in the café there

Many thanks Simon and Lesley for your friendship and hospitality

Carol and Mike, Ilminster, Somerset, September 2017

14th to 21st September 2017 – Bramble Gite

We’ve had a lovely holiday, Bramble Gite has been great for our needs, we have enjoyed travelling around Morbihan, at least a small part of it, on the bike.

Thank you so much Simon and Lesley

Andrew and Jane, Dorset, September 2017

9th to 15th September 2017 – Cider House Gite

We have had a lovely stay at the Cider House, which has come to an end too quickly.

We have been made to feel very welcome, and our boys (3 & 1) have really enjoyed the garden and feeding the chickens / rabbit on a daily basis!

The weather has been mixed, but we had a great day at Carnac on the beach, and enjoyed visiting the chateau / creperie at Suscinio.

We also recommend the Dan Ewan creperie in Vannes.

All in all a great stay and we hope to return, thanks!

19th to 26th August 2017 – Willow Gite

Thanks again Lesley and Simon. We have had an excellent week at the Gite (Willow).

The new pool and sun bathing area is fabulous!!

All the best, Kathryn, Michael, Holy and James, Woodley, Stockport, August 2017

12th to 26th August 2017 – Bramble Gite

Thank you Lesley and Simon another great holiday here

Places to visit review, these are our choices and were aimed at keeping two boys (four and six) active and happy :)

La Ballade du Pere St Nicholas – well worth a visit, especially for kids 7+ (for Go Carts)

Kingoland – Great day out - Bring swimming kit.

Branfére – as good as any Zoo we have been too. Highly Recommended

Damgan Beach – Very pleasant beach trip

Naizin Village – lake facilities shut on some days, check the website for open days as we should have!, good for a picnic, swings, animal park, rope barge etc., 2-3 hrs (when the facilities are open you can get a beer, coffee, rent a paddle boat and play mini-golf)

Ile aux Moines – Stunning island trip, five min ferry from Baden (port Blanc) easy to do and park and the highlight of our visit.

Josselin – beautiful town – ideal for last day trip

Le Petit Delire – Very different kind of Fun Park to Kingoland but well worth a full day out

Had a fabulous fortnight and the new pool is a fantastic addition to an already great place to stay.

Thank for looking after us so well. xxx

Riche, Anne-Marie, Liam and Rory, Liverpool, August 2017

12th to 26th August 2017 – Cider House Gite

We have had an excellent holiday here. The children loved the pool and the odd game of badminton.

Lesley and Simon are terrific – always at hand with advice regarding places to visit and where to park etc. and always very helpful and friendly.

There are some beautiful places to visit around here. The Carnac Megaliths were fabulous and the beaches there were excellent too.

Would have liked much more time to explore Vannes and a few more of the towns

If you go to Quiberon take the train as Simon and Lesley suggest, avoiding the car traffic as this is a popular tourist beach and town.

Thank you very much, Christine, Peter, Daniel, Amy and Helen xx, Ipswich, Suffolk, August 2017

12th to 19th August 2017 – Willow Gite

We’ve had a lovely week, thank you very much and would have no hesitation recommending to our friends in Suffolk.

Disappointed we are missing the cycle race in Moreac tomorrow. (Under 23’s tour de France).

The new pool is lovely for swimming and relaxing

5th to 12th August 2017 – Bramble Gite

This was our first visit to the Gites and definitely will not be the last.

Simon and Lesley are perfect hosts and extremely helpful with providing information about the best local places to visit.

Our favourite days have been the beach at Damgan and Kingoland.

Simon and Lesley’s lake is beautiful

The pool and garden facilities are fantastic for children and it was great that Teddy could run around and play safely.

The swimming pool was always clean and warm and Teddy grew in confidence each day.

There are lots of beautiful parks and lakes nearby. Moreac park and Locmine park are worth a visit

Luke and Teddy caught a beautiful 27lb carp at Locmine on Teddy’s first fishing trip.

Luke also enjoyed a day fishing at Radenac Lake

We have had a wonderful week!

We will hopefully see you next year!

22nd July to 5th August 2017 – Bramble Gite

Yet another wonderful fortnight here!

Relaxed – absolutely perfect for families, Kids have loved the new pool and the space to run around, as well as feeding the rabbit and chickens

Lesley and Simon are perfect hosts, with a ready supply of fresh picked veg as well as milk etc., not to mention baby sitting and taxi service which enabled us to have a “grown up” meal out (a rare luxury!)

Favourite days out have been the beach Damgan (fine sand, free parking and restaurants close by), The chateau at Suscino, Pere St Nicolas, as well as Foret adrenaline (fab for kids and adults of all ages) Petit Delire (another favourite with the kids)

We have especially loved using Simons and Lesley’s fishing lake for Picnics before an easy cycle to Josselin.

Simon and Lesley what can we say?? It’s been fab!! Again!! Look forward to return.

Liz, Nick, Joseph (8) and Thomas (5), Westhoughton, Bolton, July – August 2017

15th to 22nd July 2017 – Willow Gite

Lesley and Simon, thank you for being such helpful and discrete hosts, it’s a wonderful combination

Willow Gite had all we required for a very relaxing stay.

Being from Ireland any dry day is a good day, with the exception of a French “spectacular” storm, which our daughter took as a form of entertainment, we were fortunate with the Sunny Breton weather.

We enjoyed the Sculpture Park for an interesting afternoon and a very short drive
Auray, Josselin and Carnac are well worth the journey.

Rochefort en Terre whilst a bit twee was most enjoyable and the NAIA museum (Musée des Arts de l'imaginaire fantastique et visionnaire) is both fascinating and quirky

Thanks again

Breda, Jack and Maireann, Bracken, Dublin, Ireland, July 2017

8th to 22nd July 2017 Bramble Gite

This was our first visit to the Gites and definitely won't be our last!

Our hosts, Lesley and Simon were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, including finding the cost of a stamp to China!

The Pool was fantastic and Elena grew in confidence every day.

The whole place is very child friendly and we felt reassured knowing Elena would be safe.

We visited lots of places:

Carnac was great

Damgan very pretty and the beaches really sandy and great for kids.

Vannes excellent for shopping

Auray and Josselin well worth a visit or two!

We found Poete Ferrailleur on our last day (Nr Josselin and Lizio) and it's a fantastic place to go if you have kids magical just 35 minutes, drive at Lizio

Hope to be back soon

We have all enjoyed ourselves very much, at your Gite; you are fantastic hosts and have made us extremely welcomed, from our arrival to departure!

It was a real Bonus to have the facility of a lovely pool; much needed in the hot weather!!

The extra facility of having produce from your garden was also very welcome

Super hosts good luck to both of you for the future

Mike, Caroline, Tricia and Roger, Devon and the New Forest, June July 2017

24th June to 1st July – Willow Gite

The new pool has been a great addition to what was already a good holiday experience.

We enjoyed it enough to come back again this year and that is a first for us.

If you really want to improve the experience for your guests can I suggest unlimited free beer!!

Many thanks

John and Tessa, Barnsley, June – July 2017

10th June to 1st July – Cider House Gite

How can 3 weeks go so quickly!!

As always Simon and Lesley have been great (try Simon’s Honey) the pool is fantastic, have used it most days to cool off as weather has been so hot.

The Gite as always is lovely and the shower is to die for.

The fishing at the lake has been good and for Bill and I the best was on our last day fishing when we (me) Landed a Mirror Carp about 7 or 8 lbs in weight (ok not big on Simons and Josh’s Standards) but we were thrilled (Easily Pleased!)

Josselin is lovely to visit we also went to Carnac and went on the little train to see the Neolithic Stones, beaches and harbours, worth doing it if a lot of walking is too much for you and you can set off and on again on a later train, also we did the train at Quiberon as well.

We went to the car museum at Loheac which is well worth a visit with a good creperie at the end of the road.

One day we spent the morning driving around the local villages Naizin was a nice surprise and a lovely walk around the lake

Must go to Reguiny to the war museum the lady there is so passionate about it she brings it to life, a very moving visit.

We also discovered “Les Forges Des Salles” an old iron working village about an hour’s drive from the Gites, kept as it was when the forge closed in 1877 it is a journey back from the past; a guide book is given to you in English to explain what is what

Rochefort-en-terre is also worth a visit, nice different shops a lovely medieval town and nice places to eat.

We are going to book again for next year before we go home.

Thanks again Simon and Lesley

Martyn, Yolanda and Bill, Cornwall, June – July 2017

Many thanks Simon & Lesley

We had a great weeks stay in your Gite (Willow) 17-06-17 to 26-06-17

We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone, the outside facilities especially the new swimming pool was great.

We found the surrounding area had many places of interest to visit! VANNES, JOSSELIN & PONTIVY Unfortunately I did not manage to go fishing this time but hope to on a future visit

Many thanks

Ivy Gite 03-06-17 to 10-06-17

Le Grange Gites is perfect for a relaxing family stay. Lesley and Simon couldn't be more willing to help with everything we needed and we were made to feel welcome and comfortable.

The Gites are in a fab location for exploring Brittany with many wonderful day trips just a short drive away.

Our favourites were the lovely town of Vannes on market day and the ferry across to Ile aux Monies which is absolutely charming.

The Gites themselves provide a safe and enclosed garden area to let the little ones run free, and a lovely clean and warm pool. We will definitely be back next year!

We have had a lovely time here –it is a great base for visiting local towns, lakes, parks and it has lots to do nearby for young children.

The swimming pool and garden toys are great to entertain children and enjoy in good weather

Thank you Lesley and Simon for a very enjoyable holiday and being great hosts

“The Princess” – Mid April 2017

I’m looking out through the back door and smiling, at a sight so brave and beguiling.
Simon and Lesley in the corner of the garden,
what I’m about to divulge I should really beg her pardon.
There was Lesley with Barrow and shovel in hand,
And the digging was tough not like playing in the sand.

***********************

Now I look out again and what do I see,
The princess is painting down on one knee.
Looking on from the seats are spectators all male,
It’s a good job the “paintress” is anything but frail
Simon says she’s only doing it to get her name down in print,
I think the stain should be a much nicer tint.

***********************

Now it’s Thursday in the evening and we are all dining at ours,
A bit like the famous, the faulty type of towers.
Coming up to nine and it’s time for us to sing,
The wine and beer is flowing like a spring.
But believe it or not we’re still chatting at nine,
And by the look on our faces we’re all feeling fine

***********************

Saturday morning and still frost on the car,
The warm summer mornings are hiding afar.
But the skies every morning are a bright shade of blue,
A clearness that can only enhance the view.
Today’s trip to Josselin with the market in mind,
Lord knows what little treasures we’re likely to find.

***********************

As per usual it was a pure pleasure to visit the Gites.

Many thanks to Simon, Lesley and Josh for doing everything possible to make our holiday a success, for me they succeeded.

10th March to 13th March 2017 – 3rd stay at Le Grange Gites - Willow Gite

A huge thanks for letting us have the Gite at such short notice (a few hours!) especially as you were going on holiday and had so much on with the new pool, lake and building work for Josh!

We have enjoyed as always our few days away and can’t wait to come back in June for our 3 weeks of fishing.

Thanks again, see you soon, Yolanda and Bill, Saltash, Cornwall, March 2017
