See you all soon

What a find! This little bit of bliss and tranquillity hidden away here In Brittany. The Gites are so beautiful and so well fitted out. We enjoyed the area so much and found a lot to do here.

Thank you all for making us so welcome and for being such good hosts. The very best for the future and hope “The Cider House” goes well for you.

Hugh and Claire, Cork, Ireland, September 2008

We have had another fantastic week, on our second visit here. Thanks to Jake for playing with Tom and William all week.

Fantastic beaches at Quiberon and Damgan, Also been to Vannes and Pontivy.

The boys also enjoyed the Labyrinth at Guidel-Plages and the walk around the Sculpture Park at Bignan.

William enjoyed Simon’s courgettes again!

Good luck with the Cider House. Hopefully we will be back soon

Karen, Ian, Tom (10) and William (8), Rushall, Walsall, August 2008

We did our homework before coming to this area and these Gites. We were not disappointed. The area is fantastic, so much to see and do and so many Chateaux to see, our 6 year old “fairy princess” was in her element.

And as for food, “La Gare” at Locmine is great and it is worth getting there before midday to get a table.

The Train from Auray to the beach at Quiberon was recommended and thoroughly enjoyed.

The Gite is so well designed with Children in mind, you even managed to install a 6 year old boy next door to play with India!

We can’t remember the last time we were on a holiday somewhere with such an easy, friendly atmosphere. Lesley and Simon have certainly made this a holiday to remember, they are so easy to talk too, very informative and have gone out of their way to help.

We wish them every success for the Cider House, we will definitely recommend.

We have had a lovely week here in Bramble Gite. The boys have really enjoyed the garden, especially seeing the chickens and “moo-cows”!

Jake was very kind and made Archie’s day by going fishing with us and helping us catch some fish!

We recommend going to Pontivy – the castle was simply wonderful and there is a lake near by, also Josselin was a very pretty place to visit.

We have had a brilliant stay, good luck for the future

The Butler family, St Albans, Hertfordshire, August 2008

Our comments will no doubt mirror those, which have already been made.

Very friendly hosts in Lesley, Simon, Josh and Jake. Great accommodation and the garden facilities were perfect. We could let Evan run around to his hearts content

Places we particularly enjoyed visiting were:

Josselin, Roche Fort-en-Terre, Vannes (and the Wednesday market which is fab), The Zoo at Pont-Scorff, Some very pretty villages south of Josselin – Serent, Lizio and Guehenno to name but a few.

We have had a wonderful holiday and found a part of France that combines all our favourite elements. We will definitely be back, and to “Le Grange Gites”

Also L’abbaye de Timadeuc on the way to Rohan is well worth a visit. You can walk around the grounds, to the canal of just enjoy the shop. They make cheese and fruit sweets and the monks are very friendly!

St Gildas de Rhuys is lovely too

So many lovely places!!

Cheryl, Gareth and Evan (3), East Yorkshire, August 2008

We have had a fantastic two weeks in Bramble Gite.

The Gite has been really well equipped with everything we could possibly need and it is a great staging post for plenty of things to see and do in Morbihan.

Favourite places to visit: -

1 – Quiberon – a lovely beach town with lots of shops, restaurants and art galleries. On the way to Quiberon is Penthievre, with sea and sandy beaches on both sides of the road = calm on one side and choppy water on the other side.

2 – Carnac Plage – Shops, restaurants and bars galore. Don’t miss the “Igloo” ice cream parlour – hundreds of different flavours, although we steered clear of the “curry flavour!!”. Alan managed to select an ice cream flavour that tasted of fish, but the rest of us had fab flavours!

3 – Reguiny – A pretty local village not far from the Gites. We went to the museum in Reguiny which was dedicated to communications particularly during WWII it was really interesting, especially for Talli who loves history.

4 – Go-karting near Ploemel on the D22. At the halfway point of the holiday, Dom turned 13, and for his birthday he decided he wanted to go go-karting. Following advice from Lesley and Simon about where to go, we headed to the karting track at Ploemel. A fantastic adrenalin rush for all the family and well worth the cost. We enjoyed it so much we went back twice in our second week, and Dom wants to be the next Lewis Hamilton!

All in all we have had a wonderful, relaxing holiday here at Bramble Gite.

Thank you so much to Lesley, Simon, Josh and Jake for your lovely hospitality. We will definitely be back again!

Jo, Alan, Talli (14) and Dom (13), Evesham, Worcestershire, August 2008

We’ve had an excellent holiday. Nice and relaxing. This is and excellent Gite and I would recommend it to families of all ages

Simon and Lesley have been very welcoming. My children have loved the pool, and feeding the chickens

Recommended places to visit:

1 – The Labyrinth at Guidel-Plages – kept us amused for hours – kids loved it.

2 – The Aquarium and Butterfly house at Vannes

The Bater family, Barnstaple, Devon, August 2008

This is our first adventure of a Gite holiday in France, which we have been really looking forward to for many months.

All of our expectations have been exceeded.

The driving has been very easy and the roads are so quiet. The food has been so delicious we need to go on a diet when we get back to the UK.

Daily visits to a boulangerie we were spoilt for choice. A local baker in Moreac made us a delicious chocolate mousse cake for our daughter’s birthday – a miracle with my knowledge of French!

Ivy Gite has been perfect for us all everything we needed.

The pool was the highlight for our children, and the lovely garden

Lesley, Simon, Josh and Jake have been so helpful, nothing was too much trouble, thanks for the wonderful fresh eggs and courgettes.

The local area is so tranquil, yet within easy reach of many attractions – we enjoyed Pont Scorff Zoo, Josselin, Locmine market, Poul Fetan Village at Quistinic, Aquarium in Vannes and all the boulangeries in Brittany!

The Website is excellent; everything shown is even better in reality!

All our best with the Cider House, many many thanks – we really hope to return

Alison, Andy, Rebecca (10), Elanor (7) and Daniel (5), Beckenham, Kent, August 2008

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Simon, Lesley and the boys were very hospitable and were always on hand for help and advice.

La Baule is a beach that is well worth the extra drive and is very safe if you have young children. (stop at La Roche Bernard on the way, Stunning)

Josselin is also worth a visit if you are stuck on an overcast day. This is a beautiful medieval town with plenty to look at and boats on the canal to take the kids on.

We have all had a lovely holiday and would like to thanks Lesley, Simon and the boys for everything! Really enjoyed the courgettes and eggs! 1st class service – hopefully see you again soon.

Steve, Louise, Hannah (10) and James (8), Farnham, Surrey, August 2008

Thank you very much for your kind hospitality. We enjoyed the gorgeous surroundings and the country walks.

Place to visit: -

1) La Baule – Approx 1 ¼ hrs car drive, but absolutely gorgeous beach – Well worth the travel

2) La Roche Bernard – This is a picture-perfect French village in a beautiful hamlet set by the side of a river en route to La Baule.

3) Inland a little is the beautiful French town of Pontivy.

4) Not forgetting Vannes of course!

Best wishes to you all!

Colin, Mel, Jordan (8) and Benjamin (5), Farnham, Surrey, August 2008

We have enjoyed our stay at the “Willow Gite”. We are impressed with all the facilities it has to offer – everything you need!

Ben in particular enjoyed the daily visits from “Ben” the cat and would like to take him home.

We visited a lot of places within easy driving distance and especially enjoyed a day out:

Quimper – lovely shops and pretty setting

Concarneau – on Friday – a huge market and a lovely stroll around the harbour and town

Dinan; Rochfort-en-terre; La Roche Bernard and Josselin were very pretty villages / towns.

La Baule and Benodet had the best beaches – very clean and good facilities.

We managed a day trip to Jersey (from St-Malo with HD Ferries only an hours crossing), which was really lovely and enabled us to stock up on some more English reading material and a pub lunch!

The best meals out were at the Terrace restaurant in Carnac and the Villa Valencia – in Vannes – as non-fish eaters – they offered plenty of choice.

Thank you for a lovely stay

Chris, Lisa, Lewis and Ben, Neath, West Glamorgan, Wales, August 2008

Thank you very much for your kind hospitality during our two-week stay. We were very lucky with the weather and so got to see some of what Brittany has to offer.

The children in particular loved the outside space, the pool, the swings and the slide. A perfect place to wind down after being out for the day.

We would recommend the dinosaur park, the aquarium at Vannes and the Butterfly house next door.

We found some lovely beaches – Carnac, Guidel Plage and our favourite Quiberon.

We are really keen to come back and sample the eggs and courgettes again Kind regards.

Simon, Teresa, Sophie (5) and William (3). Wynyard, Birmingham, July 2008

Thank you for a wonderful two-weeks – so much to do in the area. Highlights definitely the beach at Erdeven, the market in Locmine, cycling down the canals and swinging through the trees (foret adrenaline).

The Gites are very comfortable and very safe

Two weeks of glorious weather, also great to know that Simon, Lesley, Josh and Jake close by to answer and questions.

We wish you every success!

Alan, Cindy, Josh and Caleb, Greenmeadow, Swindon, July 2008

Many thanks for a wonderful stay in Willow Gite. We had a great fortnight, especially recommend the beach at Men-Du.

Emily’s favourite were the steps! Outside on the new Rock Wall / Slide play equipment in the garden and the cat – if the car was bigger we would have to take both home with us!

The Gite is very child friendly, Emily loved the stairs so many thanks for the stair gates

Good luck with the Cider House and thanks for a great stay.

Jane, Steve and Emily, Epsom, Surrey, July 2008

We had a fantastic stay in the Willow Gite. Lesley and Simon are great hosts and are well informed on the area. We had a great day fishing with Simon, Lesley and the boys.

We will definitely come back next year.

We wish them all well for the future

Dave, Val and Craig, Hyde, Cheshire, July 2008

We had a wonderful time in Moreac and would like to come back to stay some time in the future. Thanks again for your help during our stay. Regards to Josh and Jake

Bethan, Dylan, Non and Fleur, Llandegfan, Wales, June 2008

Thank you for a lovely time. We have greatly enjoyed our time at the Gite. We are looking forward to coming back in the years to come and wish you good luck for the future.

Craig and Mireille, Southampton & Canada, June 2008

We arrived at Le Grange Gites to find it actually looks like the pictures on the website. Simon and Lesley greeted us and showed us around the Gite, explained how things worked and about the site in general.

We loved our time with them; our youngest son became firm friends with Josh and Jake and even caught his first fish in the lake in Moreac! We also enjoyed feeding the chickens and rabbit.

The village is lovely, all the shops were well stocked and the pain au chocolate run became a regular early morning job! The bakery opposite the sports bar does the best ones!

Out and about we found that Le Churrasco in Locmine was wonderful for dinner – the service was excellent and the food fantastic – try the tagliatelle au salmon – it’s out of this world.

We enjoyed several days out whilst at Moreac – Pontivy for the market on Monday, Carnac and Quiberon (we found the ice cream parlour with 100 flavours) and Josselin. The war museum at Reguiny, although small is well worth a visit.

Sadly, our time at Le Grange Gites did come to an end – we felt as though we were saying au revoir to old friends when we departed – we will definitely visit again. We have found a little piece of heaven in Brittany.

Moira, Mike, Chris, Louise, John, Alex, Daniel and Matthew, Pembrokeshire, Wales, June 2008

We have had a wonderful holiday in Bramble Gite, with our two boys. Simon and Lesley have created a very comfortable and high standard of self-catering facilities here. The outside areas are a great bonus and a good way to meet other people.

On our first day within half an hour if arriving Jacob had already shown Matthew (2 yrs old) a kitten born a few days a ago – a lovely experience for him!

We felt that the Gites are a great base for exploring lots of areas in Brittany – we look forward to returning in a couple of years when the boys are older and bringing our bikes.

We really appreciated the children’s toys and play area Matthew loved it, we found the English TV channels very good, as we knew we would be spending most evenings in.

The Gite was of an excellent quality and we wanted for nothing. Thank you very much for the use of the stair gates, cot and pushchair.

Thank you Simon and Lesley for the great accommodation and experience. We will be telling all of our friends about you!

Martin, Clair, Matthew and James, Finchampstead, Berkshire, June 2008

We have had an absolutely wonderful holiday. The Gite was perfect for us and really well equipped – the washing machine with two small children is a god-send!

The Garden and Pool have been brilliant fun, and also the animals.

Lesley, Simon, Josh and Jacob have made us all feel very welcome and looked after us and any needs we had. Our Jacob is really going to miss Jacob!

We have found so many wonderful places to visit, which included:

· Quiberon – Beautiful beaches and a lovely meal on the seafront with children’s menus!
· Savage Coast – Jumping in the waves and watching surfers.
· Damgan – Beautiful Beach, good play area, lots of restaurants (many with children’s menus and highchairs).
· Suscinio Beach – was lovely and the Chateau really impressive and interesting – even to a 4 year old!
· Carnac & La Trinité-sur-Mer beaches
· Vannes and Rennes are both nice cities
· Josselin is beautiful.

Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday, we hope to be back next year and will recommend to everyone.

Emma, Dave, Jacob and Lynley, Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire, May 2008

We’ve had the most fantastic week here at Willow Gite, with some lovely sunny days to boot. Warm welcome from Simon and Lesley much appreciated.

Our highlights have been Men-Du-Beach where we swam, a day out to the Quiberon Peninsula where we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Cote Savage, a brilliant day spent at Branfere Zoological Park, a look around the Megalithic Stones at Carnac, a picnic at the Sculpture Park and a walk along Suscinio Beach.

Our children loved collecting eggs and visiting the chicken’s daily. Also they enjoyed the pool and watching Josh fish in the evenings.

An unexpected bonus was making friends with David, Emma and their 2 children next door in the Bramble Gite. We’ve had several BBQ’s with them and a few late nights sampling the local wines.

A fantastic holiday!

Thanks
