The Village Of Moreac

A leisurely 15 - 25 minute stroll (or 2 minutes by car) from the Gites will take you to the picturesque village of Moreac. Should you prefer to drive to the village, there is free parking both around the church and in the village car parks

Moreac has a lovely new park area and lake with many activities for the kids, also a fitness course around the lake, many picnic benches, ping-pong table, Boules pitches and 2 metre wide smooth concrete paths running through the park and around the lake, so very easy to walk or with a push-chair, an ideal place to take a picnic, or for the kids to have a fantastic time, all free to use and open 7/7 - 24/24

The village is centred around the church and has all the amenities for your needs during your stay

With 3 bars there is plenty of choice for somewhere to sit and enjoy a coffee or something stronger on those warm summer evenings on their outside tables and chairs

There are also three restaurants serving food both during the day and evening.

Within the village there is a shop / smaller supermarkets both selling groceries, postcards etc. There is also a post office, 2 bakeries, 2 hairdressers a beauty salon and a pharmacy.

5 Minutes away is the town of Locmine with all you need for your stay, 4 Large Supermarkets and many restaurants etc, please see our out and about page for more details

There is a doctor and a dentist in the village. A cash point is located in the centre, which accepts many cards, including Visa (and instructions are also in English, which helps!!)

Village Lake

The village has a lovely lake (Plan d'eau) with gardens and paths all around as well as picnic benches and very well equipped play equipment for the children.

Swing sets, climbing frames, fitness course, rock wall, climbing bars, roundabouts, rocking animals, bouncing mat, younger children’s area

Moreac- Fishing

The village lake is well stocked with fish (so you should catch something!) You do need a permit to fish; these are available for a small charge from the local bar or online (please just ask us or visit the fishing page below). For the more serious fisherman, of course there is our lake and there are some well stocked carp lakes around as well as fishing on the Nantes / Brest canal. So perhaps you could spend a day fishing while the family relax at the Gites.

Moreac - Boules

There are regular boules competitions in the village and the boules pitches are available for the public to use free of charge.

Also there a pitches around the park area and lake

Moreac - Football

The village has its own football team and stadium. Matches are played on Sunday afternoons

Moreac - Tennis

There are tennis courts situated near the football stadium, tennis Courts are available for the public to use free of charge.

(You will need to collect a key, just ask us and we will telephone the bar to find out who is holding the key, as its location varies to which place is open)

PS you will need to bring your own balls and rackets.

If you are a keen bird watcher or just interested in general wildlife Le Grange Gites is ideally located.

5 Minutes from the village is the larger town of Locmine , which you may find convenient for any other holiday needs. Here you will find 4 large supermarkets, banks, petrol stations, restaurants and bars. There is a cinema, heated public pool. The town has a traditional market on a Thursday morning. Mini golf is available (July and August) at the lake in Naizin.
